There are different levels in the teaching field. Teacher, Lecturer, Professor, Academician, etc. All these levels have different eligibility norms.
By your question, it appears that you wish to become a Teacher. However I shall enlist the eligibility norms for all the above levels.
1. For becoming a primary or secondary school teacher, you should be a graduate and B.Ed. qualified candidate. Preferably all through English medium. After this, you can apply for school teacher jobs. The subject of specialisation can be of your choice.
2. For becoming a pre-primary teacher, you need to be atleast 12th pass in english medium and should have preferably done the pre-primary teacher training course.
3. If you wish to become a college teacher till 12th std, then you should be atleast a graduate preferably a masters and B.Ed pass candidate.
4. If you wish to become a college teacher above 12th std, then you should be a masters degree holder, and NET / SET pass candidate. B.Ed is not required to teach in senior or post graduate colleges. This applies for Lecturer position as well.
5. For becoming a Professor, you need to be a masters and NET / SET exam pass candidate and also you should be applying to the PhD course.
