Dear Aspirant, I believe that you have a bachelor degree in Food technology. A bachelor degree will open job avenues for you in India and abroad. But the bachelor degree will let you to attain a beginner position in any company. If you are serious to progress in five years than you have to do something else also. As a simple food technologist, you will be able to work as technical person and you will have chances of growth in technical lines only. Means thereby the persons from management or administration lines can command a technical person. To overcome this problem, in my suggestion you should join a company and besides job, you should also pursue Masters of Business administration (MBA) by correspondence. This degree will offer you job opportunities in management or administration. Here you can progress by leaps and bounds, but still it all depends upon your work and performance. Let us take another situation, you join Food technology program for masters degree from a reputed university, definitely you will now have more opportunities compared to a simple bachelor degree holder. A combination of Master degree in Food technology and MBA for a company or an industrial job will be an ideal combination. This combination will definitely help you to fulfill your dreams in five years.
