First allow me to introduce you to myself, I am working as a Finance analyst and having a experience of more than three years in same field, I did my MBA in Finance from IIM Shillong. With my experience in the corporate world I think I can answer your query related to growth in career in five years if you are working as a human resource manager.

Human resource is a very diverse field where you can excel like anything, everything depends how you work, what kind of knowledge you have, your command over your work and subject. how well you can relate to it.
Starting your career as a human resource executive you will learn more and earn good both will go hand in hand. After gaining some experience and having idea about each and every part of what works demand you are now a eligible resource in market which will be approached by so many companies, it can be public or private companies.
Now you can see what is good and what is bad for you, you will get the bargaining power in the interviews if you think you can do full justice to your job.You do not need to worry about anything if you are well aware and versed with all the work related to Human resource field, it may be recruitment, selection, screening, orientation, induction, placements, joining formalities, pay roll process, statutory compliance, performance appraisals, training and development, exit interviews, exit formalities, etc.
This all are integral part of human resource work, apart from this you need to work on below mentioned in case you are moving higher in ladder of Human resource in HEAD of department positions:
  • Strategic Planning
  • Retaining resources
  • Team building plan
  • Co relational activities
  • Attrition rate control

If you think you can do all above and you have full confidence on your self no body can stop you on earning more and more in human resource filed as human resource is a very important department for any organisation. Almost all companies have a human resource department whether public or private.
