Hi,

I hope you know the scope of work that a psychologist can do. To be a private practitioner or work as a psychologist in any clinical setting, ideally you must have a MA degree either in Clinical Psychology or Counselling. IN addition you could also specialise in specific therapies. With such qualifications you will be either be able to work in a hospital setting or you can open your own clinic. Five years is sufficient time to set up a successful private practice. What you need to concentrate on is to make professional contacts with doctors, psychiatrists, paediatricians etc so that they can refer patients who need your services. Also this time is adequate to make a large client base such that clients and their family members can publicize the quality of your services by word-of-mouth.

Thus, in five years you can make good progress if you put in constant efforts and connect with people.
