Hi There,
This is an interesting question, but I am sure you know the answer yourself.
It is difficult to change a career and at the same time not loose everything. Since change of a career means your present career becomes totally null, and you would begin afresh or rather at the base level.
One way would be to move up the ladder in your field or career itself. At points when one feels stagnated, one can opt for an MBA or management course. It helps them with a new profile and at the same time they would not loose much in the bargain.
Other than this, a change in the industry can help too. Be in the same domain but just change the industry only.
Other than this changing a career is only going to make you begin all the way from the base level.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
