There are many ways of finding a job.

One of them is through Campus Placement.
But since you have mentioned it here, means Campus Placement is unavailable or you looking out for other opportunities.

The other means possible is through:

• Job Portals: This is one of the most preferred way to find a job. Update and upload your Resume on various Job Portals like Naukri, Monster, Times job etc with the latest about yourself, internships and projects undertaken and any other achievements. Also prepare a good covering letter and post it on the job portals.
• References: This is another useful way of finding a job. References from Friends, Relatives or Professor can also be helpful
• Direct Application: Here, you search for companies online and send in your application either through the companies website or via Post to the companies mailing address. You can also visit the company and ask for a interview directly at the front desk or drop in your Resume at the Front Desk
• Newspaper: This is the oldests but one of the known sources to find employment. Companies place an advertisement in the newspaper and seeing that you can apply for the job directly. Employment NEWS is one of the leading papers to help get a job. Other than that all other leading newspapers like TOI, Mid day etc also print advertisement for opportunities.

Other than what I mentioned above, please note that students are also employed by organizations during workshops and or training programs or project exhibitions.

Getting a job after Civil Engineering is definitely possible through job portals, references, application to advertisements.

After completing Civil Engineering, I would suggest you not to remain content on graduation. Construction and Infrastructure industry is evolving and has become dynamic. Civil Engineers are no more just required for buildings, real estate and roads. They are now being professionally required in infrastructure projects like Airport construction, refinery construction, dams, expressways, etc.

Today the industry is demanding some more skills from Civil Engineers. The most important skill they are demanding is about Construction Project Management. If possible, I would suggest that you should do post graduation in construction project management and then only get into jobs market.

If you wish to work with big companies in construction, then definitely you will require more skills than just being a graduate civil engineer.
