Hi there,
CAT preparation as well as other entrance tests like CAT or SAT etc requires practice. The more you practice, the better well equipped you would be in cracking the exam.
Not only solving papers but understanding the logic behind it and finding the shortcut is an essential ingredient to a high percentile. The mantra is solved maximum questions correctly in a short period of time.
As far as previous years papers are concerned, there are CAT preparations books available which claim to have attached 5 years papers. They will definitely be helpful. Joining coaching classes will help you learn the concepts.
Currently, solve papers to understand the concepts and understand the logic and develop your shortcuts. But as the exam approaches begin to time yourself.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck....
Dear Aspirants,
Officially, there are no previous CAT question papers available in the market. However, there are many books that claim that they have questions from the past attempts. You can definitely rely on them but you will not get an exact previous question paper of CAT.
Studying what was asked in the previous attempts is definitely beneficial and you may definitely take help and get an idea of the type and level of difficulty of the questions.
You may purchase books from the market or still better join a good coaching class for an expert guidance, practice.
Best wishes
CAT requires qualitative, not quantitative preparation. When it comes to CAT preparation, the teachers create the real difference. There are institutes which provides good coaching to achieve 90 percentile like Time institute, paramount coaching. CAT is an exam that tests your expertise in 3 basic fields:-
1.Mathematics and data interpretation.
2. English and reading comprehension.
3.logical reasoning.
If you are serious for CAT, you cannot ignore any one of the sections. One has to be a jack of all the three sections to ace the test, this becomes more important since one never knows what the composition of the CAT paper is going to be next year.
