Hi,

Both the options are fine but it depends on what you aspire for in life. What is your dream job in the career you have selected, where you want to reach. Depending on the employer, software engineer education degree requirements range from an associates degree to a masters degree. An associate degree might be sufficient for some entry level positions, but a bachelors degree is required for most software engineering jobs, while more complex jobs might require a masters degree.

Employers place a high value on relevant experience , so it is recommended that the you participate in internship while pursuing your degree. Aspiring software engineers usually major in computer science, computer information systems, software engineering or mathematics. some students take programming and software engineering classes to supplement a degree in another field, such as accounting, business or finance. You can also pursue relevant certifications offered by software vendors and training institutions.

Graduate degrees are helpful for more advanced positions in the software engineering career path, although they are often not necessary. Skills gained on the job as well as your performance will put you in the running for promotions. Other factors that help with advancement are soft skills, such as being able to work in teams and business skills, such as knowing how to conduct a break- even or return- on- investment analysis.

A liberal arts education,or one from an accredited university, will provide you with a foundation in theoretical concepts, which will make you more adaptable and able to see the big picture, which will also help in achieving career advancements. Where you work depends a lot on where you serve your internship as part of a four year degree.

So i hope it is clear to you from the above information that both degree and your internship clubbed with other important skills including advanced mathematics are required to pursue a career in software engineering. All the best to you in future.

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!
