General Awareness is the most important ability a Journalists must possess.
Whether you are a writer or a news reporter, you need to be aware of the current happenings as well as the past happenings.
Since what is happening in the present and what will be the future completely depends upon the past happenings.It is mutually dependent.Unless and until you have some knowledge you would not be able to put across the point to the viewers and will result in either viewers being misguided or viewers loosing interests.
Hence reading and being able to express it and keeping oneself updated is essential for a Journalists.
