Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is a graduate aeronautical engineering program. It is a Three-year course. Upon completion of this course, one will get a license. The license is approved by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Govt of India. Only the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer can certify that the Aircraft is fit and ready to fly. As a career Point of view, the scope of aircraft maintenance engineering is greater in India in upcoming days. This is one of the challenging fields of engineering with wider scope and growth. The trainees on AME courses will be trained in Avionic stream and the Mechanical stream of engineering, Dedicated it in grooming a proficient, skilled and knowledgeable engineering candidates to cater the ever growing demands in the aviation industry. In the technical level, the aircraft maintenance engineer mainly deals with the construction, testing, designing, Maintenance and repair of aircraft. Aircraft Maintenance is dismantling, testing, inspecting, repairing and reassembling the aircraft engines, electrical systems, subassemblies of aircraft frames, engine accessories and ancillary motors. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are in charge of overhauling the Airframes. Maintenance includes equipment and circuit installation. It also includes testing the aircraft instrumentation, aircraft communication equipment, electronic systems by using the specialized test apparatus and electronic testing equipment. The aircraft maintenance engineer may also do the task of conducting routine pre-flight inspections of aircraft frames, engines, mechanical systems. To enhance the knowledge and qualification the candidate can go for further studies.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course Eligibility

  • In 10+2, the candidate must have passed in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Math with 50% marks.
  • Or three years of AICTE approved diploma in any branch of engineering.
  • Appear for the entrance exam to get admission in some of the reputed and popular institutes and universities.
  • Sc. After 10+2 with Math, Physics, Chemistry.
