Hi Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for coming on this platform with your query, we will try our best y giving you the right suggestions and advice.

Well first of all, you have asked one question but actually there are two question hidden in it. How? I am going to explain it...

Working with and in an MNC and working as an Independent Corporate Lawyer is two different thing and there is a huge difference in both the working pattern.

If you are working for an MNC as a Corporate Lawyer, it is understood that you are doing a job there and there are few rules and regulations and obligations comes along with the job. The good thing about working with the MNC is that you are working for them on a pro rota base means you are getting a salary there, so naturally you will get paid every month, you don't need to run behind the clients in order to get the money for the work you have done for them. While it is very opposite if you working as an Independent Corporate Lawyer, First you need to find the work you need to chase the clients for the money and that too is not fix.

Second thing is in an MNC you get a schedule for the entire month so you know where you travelling or how many cases are on board for hearing so accordingly you have to make yourself available on those days for the MNC, while in an Independent Practice it is quite normal to send some other advocate for the hearing on your behalf, so this is one good point being an Independent Corporate Lawyer.

Third is there is a set pattern of work you are supposed to do in an MNC, so there is no scope for exposure, or experiments, you are bound to do a particular kind of a work in a set area. If you are working as an Independent Corporate Lawyer you have all the opportunities to explore yourself or to try different experiments in order to do things differently from the others.

Forth and very important, if you are working with an MNC you might be earning a good amount of money but that is fixed and will be fixed even in the future, while working as an Independent Corporate Lawyer you are your own boss and you can ask for whatever amount as a fee you want to get from the client.

I hope the picture is much clear in your head after this, still if you have any questions please do let us know.

Thanks and all the very best
Ravi
