Out of all the public system management studies, transport management is the most interesting. Almost all the industries need a logistics expert who will be dedicated to maintaining the exit way of finished products to the client’s factory. The present millennium has emphasized a lot on the study of public system management; transport management has entered as a University curriculum in various campuses.

Pre-requisites of transport management: There are no great careers to be a student of transport management. But it’s a course which is taught generally after graduation.

Well, after doing a graduate degree in transportation management students can be absorbed in government, federal and state agencies. The career options one may enjoy after completing the course are:

  • Transportation operation manager
  • Transportation planner
  • Transportation manager
  • Transportation security specialist

To be honest, this field is an application of skills learned in classrooms. No institute can teach how to be successful in this career but yes skills are taught and case studies are discussed. A person can enter the company as an executive, gradually he will get promoted as his experience level increases and he sharpens his skills.

  • The average salary of a person in India starts at 30K INR per month when he starts as an executive
  • After 2-3 years he is promoted as manager and his salary level increases to 45-50K INR per month.
  • After 5-6 years he is promoted as transportation planning head and his remuneration is 60-70K INR per month with additional perks.
  • When he becomes the supply chain head then the salary level is 1-1.5 lacs INR per month along with certain expenses paid from the company.

So it’s seen that the compensation level increases along with experience and performance. Anyways, an engineer will have a 10% hike in salary from day one compared to a graduate. There is no dearth of scopes for this profession. So, basically, there is no halt in the career and no further looking back.
