The typical day of an Electronics and Telecomm Engineer is spent inside the office premises. If one is working in research and development field. If you have good amount of fascination for technology specially the hardware part of it, this is the field for you. Below is the summary of a typical day of an Electronics and Telecom Engineer:

  • The day is started with checking the mails and attending project meetings.
  • The discussions that take place in the meetings provide the insights of the tasks to be done throughout the day.
  • If you are working in transmission industry, most of the times you will be keeping an eye on the transmission and reception of the signals.


  • Signal processing is also an important part of the work. While working as a researcher or in offices, you will be experimenting with the signal processing and coming up with your observations and report.
  • The testing of the electronic instruments and communication channels is also an important task.
  • You will be working on the design software if you are designing the ICs.
  • In certain cases you will have to work on the maintenance of electronic equipments. This is specially prevalent in case of public sector organizations.
  • The day throughout is hectic and you have to maintain regular communication with your team members and verify everything before finalizing it.
