The typical day of a Plastic Technology Engineer goes like this:

  • Checking the emails and reply to them as soon as possible.
  • Work on the design part of the plastics. They do the designing on the computer aided design software.
  • Develop 3D designs.


  • Research and develop new manufacturing processes. They discuss it with their team members and come up with new ideas.
  • They collect the sample data from existing plastic technologies and analyze the data to improve the system.
  • Ensuring the best quality of the moulded plastic and the materials designed.


  • Prescribe the right parameters and specifications to the technicians who are working on the manufacturing.
  • Interact with customers and take their feedback about the products.
  • Making sure that the environment is safe and secure to work in and also check the atmospheric effects on plastic.


  • Create the reports on their work and verifying it with senior officials.
