The typical day of a Textile Engineer involves following activities:

  • They start their day with checking their emails followed by team meeting.
  • They have to plan their day early as they may have to go to the plant for supervision.
  • They read the blueprints sent by the designers and understand the whole design and specification.

  • They develop and test the models to process the designs and give them the desired specifications.
  • A lot of research is required on their part to get all the information at one place so that the processing and manufacturing becomes convenient.
  • If any modification in the product is required, they work with the designers and assist them in the final design.

  • They meet the team members frequently to ensure that everything is in place.
  • They have to keep a check on the quality of the textile being manufactured.
  • At senior level, they have to administer and train the junior staff and help them in day to day work.

  • If there is system malfunction, they have to fix it immediately.
  • Thus, the work is often hectic and they experience variety of tasks every day.
