hi

Siddhesh Chaurasia

How is Welingkar Institute of Management for doing Part - Time MBA?

I have just started working in IT Industry( 1 month approx). I got call from one of the representative of Welingkar for Part Time MBA admission designed for working professional. I always wanted to do MBA course after I had a IT Job. But Now I have some Confusion in mind about MBA. Like what Difference does it add or make from person who has bachelor's degree in engineering. I have no idea How MBA is related to my past education. Like I am going to work for HP for next 2 years in core IT technical domain So what stream in MBA I should choose so that I am going make connection between my MBA course and My Past Bachelors course. Which is Best Stream in MBA for a Technical guy with IT Background which will add a lot of value to his professional portfolio and will fetch him huge salary. Is this a right time to Join Part-Time MBA program. I mean should wait for some more time or I should simultaneously do Job and MBA classes. Is Part-Time MBA equivalent to Full Time MBA. I mean IS Part time MBA considered by Companies for Job Application and PLacement or not. What should be the normal or average fee for Part Time MBA program. At welingkar they stated 54,000 INR for 2 Years of MBA Program.(Is it OK or they are overcharging)

Hi,

As you have completed your Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BE) might be in "Information Technology" or "Computer Science", and if you wish to go ahead with same field, it will be advisable to go ahead with Courses like MSc (Master of Science) in which you can select IT or CS as Specialization . Or you can even go ahead with ME.

It seems you are a fresher, and recently started up your career into IT Industry (As mentioned 1 month Approx), you can go ahead with any "Part Time or Distance Mode" course into Msc (IT), Msc (CS), or even ME. Alternately , you can even go ahead for MCA (Master's of Computer Applications) Course. As with your Technical background, these courses will give more weightage to your profile than any MBA Course.

As with you Engineering Degree( if its BE or Btech), you can even get Lateral Entry (Direct 2nd year Entry) for Courses like MSC (IT) or (CS) so that you can be able to complete the Course even in 1 Year.

These similar Technical Courses will give boost to your career and you can be able to achieve the Huge Salary along with Expertism in your field.

Note: Make sure that to get enroll for any of these Technical Courses, kindly check whether the Institutions has AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) Approval. As Technical Courses without AICTE doesn't hold a value in Indian as well as Abroad countries. Even you will not been to to pursue your further studies (like Phd) after it.

The Universities having Tri-party Approvals like (UGC-AICTE-DEC) will be an added advantage in terms of Certificate Value.

As far as Welingkars is concerned thay have very good reputation in the market and fees are also reasonable in some extends. Howver, it will be Post Grduate Diploma Course and not MBA which they are providing.

If at all you find any doubts or queries feel free to contact.

Rahul
