The scope in biotechnology is encouraging comanies to strengthen their research and development segment to meet the growing demand of biotechnology products. Industries that use biotechnology techniques include pharceutrical comanies. agriculture and allied industries, human therapeutics and diagnostics, veterinary, renewable energy and waste management There are ample of opportunities in biotech research laboratoriesrun by the publi and corporate sector. Biotechnology graduates can also find employment in universities, research institutes as reserach scientist/ assistant. The work scope can range from research, sales and marketing , quality control, technical support , administration etc. Some of the top companies which hire biorechnologists rae Hindustan Lever Ltd, Thapar Group, IDPL, India Vaccines Corporation, Indo American Hybrid Seeds, National Botanical Institute and National Chemical Laboratories, pharmaceutical companies such as glaxo, johnson & johnson etc..

The biotech business is growing at a very fast pace and the number of companies in this business are multiplying at an accelerated rate. Biotechnology is making contribution to medicine, energy, foods, chemicals, material, wate mangement , pollution control and agriculture. With various comparitive benefits in terms of cheaper research and development facvilities, competitive and knowledgable manpower, the biotechnology industry in India has immense potential.
