Civil engineers handle all construction related activities. They are involved in planning, research , survey and construction of all kinds of buildings as well as roads, airports, dams, traffic and transportation systems, irrigation and power plants, water supply and sewage disposal plants, oil rigs etc. They can specialize in areas such as structural engineering , water management engineering , highway engineering and environmental engineering. Civil engineer has an option to start private practice as consltant or work with governernment , muncipilaties, tranportation authorities, architects or urban planners.
