Instrumentation engineers can get job in research and development units of public and private sector companies. They are also required by the the heavy industries such as thermal power stations, steel plants , refineries and cement and fertilizers plants. both in government and private sector like ;

national fertilizers limited
bharat heavy electrical ltd
Honeywell
Samsung
Indian oil corporation ltd
steel authority of India
Mat IT companies like Tata consultancy services, Infosys and Accenture also hire instrumentation engineers. They can alsowork as manufacturing engineers, quality controllers, research and design specialist , in multinational companies like Sony, LG, Samsung, Philips. Instrumentation engineering has a widespread application in almost all disciplines of engineering e.g. mining & metullargy, textile, rolling mills, etc.

The scope of instrumentation engineering is vast and appears to be growing in part due to the increased use of automatic control in manufacturing and process plants. Robotics is another vast field where there is huge need of instrumentation engineers.
