The interior decorator advises , chooses and then assembles the choice of furniture and coloring schemes but does not actually design. Interior decorators may advise customers or clients on the choice of items needed to furnish a room, office or home and suggest color schemes, matching a wall paper and curtains, sketching plans for room decoration or advising on suitable fabrics or fixtures for specific furnishing purposes. Interior designers work in an architect's office , in a design consultant's firm , for a group of hotels , shipping firms/ companies , airline companies or a chain of departmental stores. They may also work on domestic interiors. They help design the right kind of set for any theater or movie production or television program, and may also design for exhibition and displays. Interior design demands considerable knowledge of architecture to know how to divert drains and plan electric circuits, ventilation points, heating systems etc. many interior designers are also qualified architects. Of course, an interior designer could also take on interior decorator's role. To establish a good name for himself, an interior designer have to be meticulous about the discharge of their professional duties while trying to adhere as closely as possible to the client's tastes. Innate talent and creativity combined with a good business sense can establish an interior decorator in the profession. The earnings of interior designer purely depends upon his skills, nature of work and the type and size of organization he or she is working with
