Statistics being branch of Mathematics it has been always a great demanding career all the time. The students who have head for numbers always prefer to make their career in Mathematics or in its allied fields. Statistics is nothing but translating numbers into knowledge i.e Graphs. Its knowledge has been applied and needed in wide range of industries in order to record the data in a proper standard formats.

Statisticians are required in various sectors like Education,Sports,Pharmacy,Medical,Physics,Biology,Economics,IT,Pharmacy etc.

There are wide career scope for the Statisticians and Analytic people in both public and private sector and also in Foreign Countries.

India stands 3rd with regards to the people belonging to Statistics and Analytic following US and China and so India is the Global hub for Statistics nowadays. In 2005 when companies hired Statisticians the salaries paid to these people were around 1.8 lac per annum while in 2011 the salaries offered were from 6 lac as high as 12 lac per annum hiring a Graduate or Post Graduate.

While a person holding an experience of 3 to 5 years would get an salary ranging from 8 lac to 12 lac per annum. Furthermore a Lead Statistician with 5-10 years of experience were offered salary from 10-14 lac per annum.

So if you see there has been a great growth with respect to the salary packages. By the time you earn an experience of 10 years or more you can play the role of Manager Statistician and would earn salary around 12 - 20 lac or above per annum.

So definitely looking yourself 5years down the line you will be earning around 10 lac or above per annum with your skills and knowledge.

Dear Aspirant,

When you pass out of your Masters degree college (I necessarily mean that you should get MSc in Statistics compulsorily for a stable career growth), as a fresher in the industry you will definitely get an annual package of Rs. 3.5 lakhs and year after year it will go on increasing.

When you gain a little more of work experience of about 3-4 years, you salary may be upto Rs. 6-7 lakhs pa.

Best wishes
