Hello Anurag,

A warm welcome to careerguide.com.

Thanks for visiting us and writing us your career query.

Banking sector of India is the strongest in the world. Banking has a great importance in developing the economy of our country. Banking has been rapidly growing and expanding in different parts of India. Banking is one of the career option that many students aspire to make a career. Banking sector is one of the best career option considered and is the respected profession in the society.

Banking in commerce field is one of the high ranking profession. Its expected that there are large number of people are going to retire from the Banking Sector. Currently around 7 lakh are there in the banking sector and many of them are going to retire in the next 5-6 years and so there is a huge requirement of the Skilled Human Resource.

There are two different posts that are offered in the Banking Sector i.e the Clerk and Bank PO Officer posts. Earlier for the post of Clerk a student who have passed 12th from any stream were eligible for the Bank Clerk exams but now the notification of the bnak exams have revived the eligibility criteria. You have not mentioned in which course you have scored 80%

Following is the new eligibility criteria as per the new notifications-

1. A candidate should have completed a Graduation Degree from any of the stream from a recognised university or a student who are in the final year of the degree and waiting for their results are also eligible to apply for the Bank Exam.

2. Nationality - Indian

3.Age - 20 to 30 years; 5 years age relaxation for the SC/ST candidate, 3 years relaxation for the OBC and 10 years for the disabled person.

If you meet all the above mentioned criteria you get eligibile to apply for the Bank exams.

If you have completing your Graduation than I would advice you to go for the Bank PO Officer exam. That will be good for your career in Banking.

I hope you find this information useful and helpful for you.

Feel free to get in touch again for any further career queries.

Wish you Good Luck.

Thank You

Warm Regards,
