Plastic has become an integral part of the electronic, electric , automobile and telecommunication industries. The plastic industry makes products for industrial and domestic use and is also involved in moulding, laminating and finishing products. Plastic today play an important role in day to day life in diverse areas such as packaging , transportation, communication , sports entertainment and medical devices
. To excel in this profession one need to right interest, aptitude and personalty traits such as scientific bent of mind, mechanical aptitude, enquiring approach and highly developed powers of observation. Advanced courses demand a high degree of academic ability , creative imagination , an analytic mind , resourcefulness , curiosity , interest in problem solving and technological development. The prospects for skilled plastic engineers are there in domestic appliance sector, automobile industry , the electronic and electrical industry , households and the telecommunication industry and the packaging industry. As the demand for varieties of plastic for various uses rises, the industry is also gearing up to cater to a large cross section of households and industries and evolving newer types of materials and techniques . Indians are becoming more and more dependent on plastics of various types and in various uses and show no signs of discarding it , keeping prospects very bright for the industry and its employees and the entrepreneurs.
