Central Armed Police Forces examination is the exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for the position of Assistant Commandants in the armed police forces. This examination is completely conducted under the organizational structure of UPSC and the Indian Government and hence making this examination as one of the toughest and most competitive one to crack.   • You must be a citizen of India in order to apply for the examination
  • Any Bachelor’s degree holder or Graduate, including both Male and Female from any of the recognized institutions, can be appointed as the assistant commandants
  • Age of a candidate must be in between 20-25 years as on 1st August 2016
  • Candidate should possess all the physical standards that are mentioned in the notification should be fulfilled and only students eligible in these standards will be appointed

Now after a successful application, one should know about the exam pattern and should study accordingly. The exam pattern consists of two papers and is as follow as:


  1. General Ability and Intelligence: This paper is objective questions based carrying the value of 250 marks and is based on multiple choice questions in the fields of Basic math’s and quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning question etc. The main idea is to determine the thinking and problem-solving capability of a candidate and henceforth judge the candidate on his thinking traits.
  2. General Studies and Comprehension: This paper is of 200 marks and is a subjective type examination consisting of the essay writing comprehension in English or any other languages based on the options. This section determines your precise writing skills and hence to move forward it is important to score well in this paper since this paper consists of 200 marks.

Now in order to prepare for these both exams, a proper knowledge will be your biggest ally, and knowledge comes with the most of the practice and hence in order to ace these examinations you need to work on your each and every skill.
