Banking career is a great career option for those students who wish to make their career in the Government Sector. Banking system of India is the strongest sector in the field. It stood hard in the times of Recession. Many countries has been trying to study the Indian Banking System.

In order to make a career in the Banking sector one can make a career either in the Private and the Government Banking Sector.

Earlier a candidate who has completed 12th std was eligible for the Government Bank Clerk Exams. If they got into the merit they were appointed in the Banks. Whereas these exams were conducted differently by the different banks.

But now with the new notification Bank Clerk and Bank PO exams are conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection i.e IBPS for the 21 Government Banks except SBI. SBI conducts its own exam for the post of PO and Clerk. As per the new notification the eligibility criteria is also changed which is as follows-

The educational eligibility for Bank Clerk and Bank PO Exam (both) is the same as follows-

1. A candidate should have completed a Graduation Degree from any of the stream from a recognised university or a student who are in the final year of the degree and waiting for their results are also eligible to apply for the Bank Exam.
2. Nationality- Indian
3. Age- 20 to 30 years; 5 years of relaxation for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for disabled person.

So on the basis of 12th no one is now eligible for the Bank exams. One needs to compulsory have a Graduation degree.
