How to get entry level job with B.Tech in HR field?

As I am a B.Tech EEE graduate and I have choose to start my career in HR field and I would like to know 1 Weather a B.Tech graduate will be preferred over a BBA/MBA qualified candidates ? 2 How would these short term courses (like HR Generalist) help me to get that Entry level job? 3 I am looking forward to get my career started in HR field, I mean to say that I am looking forward to have some work experience as I am willing to do MBA(HR) after that experience. My biggest doubt is how to get that entry level job in HR with B.Tech?.................Please suggest me the best option at this moment .

You have decided HR as your career and you have also gone further up to study an MBA with HR, so that you could link up your HR practical experience with the academic HR knowledge. Brilliant. Coming over to your first question. Will a BTech EEE graduate be preferred over BBA/ MBA candidates in HR job? The answer is definitely, yes. You have studied an Engineering degree and particularly a technical subject like the EEE, which explains you have technical knowledge where as the BBA/ MBA candidates who haven't come from this EEE background will lack those technical skills. This is a great strength for people looking out for technical recruiter roles. Yes, in the field of recruitment in the HR, there is a role known as the technical recruiter. To be a technical recruiter one has to be from a technical background like the EEE, ECE, Mechanical, Computer science, IT and so on. Companies looking out for graduates or experienced in technical subjects will make use of the technical recruiters to recruit candidates for that position. So you are the right candidate for a technical recruiter position.

Job profile of a technical recruiter:
A technical recruiter is a specialist recruiter in a technical subject (any technical - EEE/ CS/ IT) and does almost all the roles that usually the HR does. However, they have some 3 additional importance to their job profile that are listed below.

1. Understand the job description
If you are working in a company or at an recruitment agency, you will receive a vacancy note with the job description written on it. Your role is to read and understand the job description well particularly about the technical skills required for the job. For a technical graduate it is easy to understand the technical job description where as the BBA/ MBA candidates might not catch up these well. So you are at an advantage with this.

2. Understand the candidate's technical CV
Your next role will be understanding the CV of the candidates well. You should see if the job description and the candidates CV match with the technical skills that are required.
3. Match potential candidates
When you find the matched candidate profiles, you should select them to be the ideal candidates for the job. The sourcing of matching candidates is usually done from job portal database.

So are you clear that you are highly advantaged in doing this technical HR role? To begin with start roles like Technical sourcing analyst or technical recruiter with recruitment agencies. Gain two years of experience and then go ahead with your MBA HR. Good luck.
