Hello Dear Aspirant,
Welcome to Career Guide.com
Thanks for approaching us and writing us your career query.

Its good to hear that you have been giving a thought to make your career in Civil Services. Civil Services are the most competitive exams considered in India. The posts that are offered through these exams are considered very prestigious and have a very decent career. Students aspiring to make a career in Civil Services are expected to have a great knowledge, humor, good at the managerial skills etc.

There are various posts that are offered in the civil services like IAS,IPS,IFS etc. These are the posts that are offered by the central government of India. Civil Service examinations are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. This commission conducts various competitive exams for central government like IAS,IPS,CDS,CPF,IFoS,IES (Engineering),IES/ISS,CMS,SCRA,CAPF,CDS,NDA etc.

The eligibility criteria for all these exams is that the students must have completed their graduation in any stream or a student studying in last year of Graduation degree can apply for the examination. While the other criteria is of Age - it is different for the candidates depending on their Caste Category.

Answering your query though you have completed your Inter CA ,CA is not considered as the Graduation Degree its considered as a part time professional degree. In order to apply for IPS you should have completed your graduation degree from any stream, its a compulsion by the UPSC. Without graduation degree from a recognised university you cannot apply for the IPS .Even if you hold a distance learning degree from the university approved by UGC of India viz.IGNOU,YCMOU,Sikkim Manipal etc. also considered to be eligible for the IPS exam by UPSC.

I hope you find this information relevant to your career query.
Feel free to get in touch again.

Wish you Good Luck thumbsup

Thank You

Warm Regards,
Prathamesh K.

Hi There,

Good to see you are pursuing CA
But my question here is why not pursuing Graduation along with CA.

Since CA is a certification and does not account for a Graduation degree. So even after you complete your CA, to secure a job, a degree is essential.

And the major requirement for Civil services is being a Graduate in any field.

Above the counselor has mentioned details for the Civil service examination.
Check:

Hope this helps.

Wish you good luck...

Dear Aspirant,

Thanks for writing to us!

You need to enrol for graduate course. You may take up BCom course as it is relevant with your Final CA's preparation and you have already clear two levels. You can do correspondence course from recognized university.

Since CA and UPSC both are competitive and requires focused preperation. Either you focus on CA and then appear for UPSC exam or prepare for UPSC exam. Preparing for both exams would be challenging.

Start preparing for UPSC from now. Since you are preparing for CA final so you need to focus on CA's preparation as well. I would recommend you to start prepared for preliminary exam. Read GK books, magazines and read news paper, one English (The Hindu) and one regional. There are many websites for UPSC exam preparation that guide students for systematic preparation. Following are the links of few websites:
www.insightsonindia.com
http://www.clearias.com
http://iaskracker.com
http://www.iasscore.in
http://iasexamportal.com

Joining coaching would be useful once you clear CA final exam.

Hope this is helpful to take informed decision. If you have any more query, feel free to write back.

Best Wishes,

Dear Aspirant,

IPS is definitely a good career option. Hope you are damn sure that you wish to go for IPS leaving your commerce side.

Why are you not doing graduation? CA Inter is good, but graduation is also a must.

Graduation is a must for appearing for IPS or IAS.

Best wishes
