How to target and enable myself working for top rated companies in the field of market research I am qualified as b.e. (industrial electronics) and mba in marketing management, for me markeing has always been something where sales or business development has nothing to do with , but more of operations related and holistic marketing process . market research has always interested me for its value and scope , I have always aspired join a leading market research company as well targeted ITES/KPO and fortune 500 companies where the scope exists , but I have awlays got and ended up in some other places ,resulting with undesirable and slow career growth, instability in jobs and now I am wondering whether this choice is right or not, in the meantime I got trainings in SAP-CRM and SAS but couldn't benefit much from them , hence I have approached here, thanks

According to my experience getting the first job in top rated companies for a fresher is not an easy task and especially for a domain like market research.

I would suggest you to begin with mid sized companies and do not be choosy about rating of the company, but look for job profile which you desire. Salary also should come secondary consideration. With an MBA, I think you should just enter the corporate without any disclaimers and conditions, since at this point of time its important for you to get started and not just keep dreaming for top rated companies to work for.

You are not interested in typical marketing, thats just fine. For entering into market research domain, you can join market research agencies which may be small in size. You will get to learn a lot and get a start in the domain. After gaining experience you can always jump to other companies and land in top companies.

I suggest you to do some course in Business Analytics from a good Institute which will help you understand the dynamics of research and analytics. Business Analytics are short term courses which you can google search for an institute in your city.
