I always wanted to be a Civil Servant (IAS) but somehow I couldnot do it & now after wasting my 2 years after bank preparation, I don't want to waste my time anymore since preparing for IAS took time (2-3 years easily). Now I want to do job as soon as possible.

I would say never quit on something and never give up easily till you really feel that you are now exhausted all the options with that certain career field. You have studied for Civil Services Exams (CSE)/IAS for some 2 to 3 years and then you have also tried for Banking Jobs and now you are saying that you need a job easily. From your query one would easily come to understand that you have studied for long period for competitive exams including CSE/IAS and Banking which in another way clearly depicts, you have got diverse knowledge in diverse subject such as aptitude, Science and Technology, humanity subjects including Economics and sociology, national-international affairs; this kind of knowledge will help you analyze your own interests and find the suitable job accordingly though with the help of Career Counselors.

Dear Aspirant, now as you approached the CareerGuide which is one of the largest and able career counseling platforms, I am bound to guide you on this note to acquaint you with various career options and even we will have a brief analytical discussion on competitive exam field to see if it has some space to be dented.

Don’t give up easily;  You Can Take Informed Decision If So Required

It doesn’t make sense if something goes unapplied even working hard on it for a considerable time. Your experience and the lot study, you may not estimate, but can help you to crack certain exam in competitive exam field. It all requires dedications, confidence, and belief in none other than but you.

Is it your final decision to try something another like changing or switching to a new field accepting a job whatever you get in a hurry as you seem in and desperate to be in a job as soon as possible? I have told you earlier that as long as it is an informed decision based on the facts and other practicalities, you must go forward with that but the caution is, be determined with new decision and stick to it.

Yes, if the things don’t go in an expected way and if we feel like here is the pause and the moment to switch over then this can be a wise decision I would say. So go ahead. And even after switching to a new job you can have hands tried sometimes on relevant exam occasionally as you studied for so long and that knowledge would never go waste.

Take Counseling: It helps, find proper ways best suited for you

Counseling helps! CareerGuide is one of the genuine platforms you can think of to help yourself decide what streams you must go in or what your interests are; which will help you find easily the field you need to be in. CareerGuide has state of the art network of Professional Experts/Counselors who are qualified for diverse field and will guide you exactly the way it ought to be.

Ideal Career Test which is one of Psychometric Tests is very well designed to help students; career aspirants find their best-suited career field. This makes a sense rather go in wilder or blindly. This helps you come to the point precisely right away. So take the tests and have counseling thereafter accordingly.

Other Career Options

Yep, there is no dearth of career opportunities; you would get one for sure. Though in brief, I am presenting you explicitly some of the career fields you can try.

Career in Academic Education Field

Yes, you have these obvious alternatives and you can easily get a job with the help your friends circle, job agencies, jobs advertisements in newspapers. Your academic knowledge will help you.

Career in Creative Fields

You might be having some kind of hobbies; you may think your hobbies and see if they can be converted in professions. Many do, you can too. Like Photography, some kind of sport, writing, etc.

Career based on Professional Diplomas

These days, there are many short period courses/diplomas of a half year or one. These courses help get a job immediately.

Career as a Generalist

Owing to your diverse knowledge you have got while you studied for competitive exams, you have no reason to be worried about. You are in the position to do a generalist kind of job. Many organizations need an administrative assistant to oversee their vast operations. You would get a job on your experience in competitive exam field.
