Dear Aspirant,
First is important for you to convince your parents that giving the UPSC competitive exam is not your liking and though they may have many positives for that field, this does not interest you and you would like to do what interests you more since you will be more confident and happy in your career when you choose what you love the most to do.
You being 26 years old, crucial years have gone waste and there it no point at all to wait anymore in some hope.
You have done post graduation in agribusiness economics and definitely you can go for related jobs. I would suggest that you should stop immediately for studying for the UPSC and start hunting for jobs in your chosen field.
Best wishes
If you want to continue with agribusiness economics as you have already done graduation in this field , I would suggest you to go for M.Sc in agribusiness economics which will provide you with new opportunities , as basically shifting from your field is too risky at this stage, the M.Sc. Agribusiness Economics program prepares students for careers in the agribusiness sector, both as officers in agribusiness organizations, and as economists in agribusiness related research organizations. The academic content of the program has three major modules: an economics module, a management module, and an agribusiness module. Moreover you can search on this link:- http://www.gipe.ac.in/M.A.%20Agri%20Business%20Economics#
On the other hand, it is justified to appear for UPSC exams as you will stay touch with the studies and moreover you might get opportunities in that field too.
In order to post replies to the question: "I am 26 years old and have completed my post graduation in agribusiness economics in 2013. For past 3 years I was preparing for UPSC exams which my parents wanted me to pursue but I am not interested in those jobs. What can be other options for me?"
