Just a little humor, but the fact is " Counselors with grey hair" are considered as relevant and experience.
So as such your age would be a boon to be in the field of counseling.
Never the less, initially you would need experience, which is possible only if you start working in a counseling organization. And there you would face the younger lot. If you have no issues there, in terms of learning from the younger age group counselors, your age would not be an issue for you.
Go ahead pursue the course. If you as a future counselor lack confidence, how will you help your client in building his self confidence?
