I am a student of B.E. I passed my 1st year with 66%. But I failed to pass 2nd year. I want to quit B.E. and go for photography. My branch for B.E was electronics and communication. What should I do?

I am from balaghat and want to do degree course in photography from a well known college.

Hey Dear,

Your percentage of 1st year is not at all low and in fact fulfills the criteria that is demanded by most of the organizations for a job placement but I have really not understood why was it difficult for you to qualify the 2nd year in engineering.

Some of the reasons that i could identify is:
  • 1st year was easy as you are taught some general subjects only
  • you were highly motivated when you joined your college and now your motivation is lost
  • you did not all together wanted to do a Bachelors in Engineering and you were forcefully asked to do the same
  • you though that engineering is a good career option as many do it so you were also motivated for it but after you started studying it you realized that it was not your cup of tea.
  • It could also be because of the distractions that were all around you and you could not focus on your work and hence you could not clear your 2nd year exam.

dear the reason could be any of the above and more so better know to you.

But before making any such choice of leaving the course i would really recommend you to ask for yourself as to why did you joined this course? do you really have interest in the same? what happened in the 2nd year that you could not score a good percentage? Are you really interested in photography or is it merely because you thing it is a successful career option these days or you have heard about it from someone or from your friend? what will do do after you complete your photography course?

many a times we make random decisions to come out of a stressful situation and not even aware of the consequences of the same in our life.

Photography is a course that you can do anytime in your life even after completing your graduation or BE but one you leave BE then you will not get the same opportunity again.

The choice is yours..........

Best Wishes!

Hi

I am sorry to say: your past and present both seem to be in hurry and without any self belief and analysis you are being the victim of early chaser.

I am very clear in saying that you are good at past and future but your present is not defined which is being delinked from such an excellent program-B.E in ECA. No doubt photography is also an intersting field but I am raising doubt in your halfhearted swift from one to other.
You are a good student/engineer disclosure is given by you -66% not bad encouraging but fell down due to the lack of confidence in BE or someone influenced you by showcasing you the glamor of photography. I am not criticizing any program rather trying to say that wasting your time in opting another one at the cost of invested money time interest you are not going to test another flaovor.

Better you continue your engineering program and obtain the degree it will increase your skills at high exponance and then you target Photography which will give you 3-D view of your photographic career.

I did try to convince you to preserve your both past and future interest keeping the present one at constant and positive control. Please do not blame any program for your convinience based pre-mature decesion which will put you again on regression mode.

Many examples you can explore regarding the engineering in Electronic and communication being excellent base of photographer, geographical channel and discovery channel could be the ultimate animation for your type of portray.

As you sated that you scored 66% then you could not score well which indicates the dicontinuum of your interest due to the shadow of future goal which is still in quest. First you finish your present goal what you have liked and fixed, will give you satishfaction and accomplishment to try anything in future.
Best of Luck
Dr. Manoj
