I am a technical person but was not able to decide what I have to do? because I am intrested in mobiles, electronics,machines

I got failed in 12th science in Mumbai. Then I have completed diploma in Information Technology(2004-2009) from Bharati Vidyapeeth (Navi Mumbai) got KT in last year(2007) that I got cleared in 2009. Then I joined my fathers construction business. could nt find interesting, I left studies coz there was no value for studies at my home. then I opted for MBA(distance) in 2011. I started working in a co operative bank, (2011 july- 2012 september) but could nt take my mind out from IT.. I am really looking to make career in IT Or Banking industry. I am intrested in Digital Marketing (SEO) I am confused alot.. wheather I should go bank jobs as I have banking experience ? or Digital Markrting. Is it possible If I get trained for SEO and get a job?? or setup My own business? If you can suggest me on something really greatfull :-)

Your career options are quite varied and different.


Firstly when you say you are a technical person, please do analyse why do you say that???
Would you be comfortable to go in depth with repair, troubleshoot as well as deal with any issue single handedly.

Next ask yourself why are you looking out for a career into Digital marketing.
Are you a creative person by any chance. Can you think out of the box, are you very good with convincing people and do you have the vision to create something different and outstanding.
This is what is required to be successful as a digital marketing person

Since this is a digital world, everything happens on the virtual medium, so digital marketing is an upcoming field in the near future.

Say someone wishes to begin his own small enterprise. The steps in Digital Marketing would be as follows:

  • Search Engine Marketing ( SEM): Includes marketing the search engine of the customer. Mostly marketing the search engine by using online mediums like google ad-words, paid campaigns etc.
  • Social Media Marketing (SMM): Spread the product through social media like facebook, twitter, orkut, linked-in etc
  • E-Mail marketing: Promoting the business via emails, pamphlets made and send through mails to various contacts.
  • Mobile Marketing: Spreading the news via mobile, SMS, promotional codes on mobiles
  • Web Marketing: Use web media to promote via Google, yahoo and so on....
Additional knowledge in terms of animations, graphic designing and web designing would be an advantage.
