Hi,

Good question! The academic combination like Engineering and Management has benefitted many and is time tested. The engineering students in recent years have been preferring combining their technical knowledge with managerial skills to increase their value in a present day’s highly competitive market system and to try their luck for being an entrepreneur.

Dear aspirant, you are confused about what will be the right course for you in management field. I would like to know from you that when have you completed your Bachelor of Engineering? Are you a working professional? If you just have completed your BE Degree then it is a good course of action preferring regular MBA from a reputed institution because the EMBA requires you to have five plus years experience generally. You can get admission for MBA in reputed institutions like IIM on the basis of CAT score (Common Management Test) held for the aforesaid purpose. Doing a traditional MBA must be a prime choice for anyone who wants to continue education just after passing the bachelor’s degree. The Executive MBA is a different concept and is designed for the special specific purpose. Let’s see the difference between MBA and Executive MBA.

The Difference between Traditional MBA and EMBA:

The both courses will impart you the same knowledge and the curriculum will somewhat be similar in both, MBA and EMBA. The difference lies in the delivery/functioning of the course. The traditional MBA has a tight and less flexible schedule of lectures and it goes according to the academic year for the longer period. In traditional MBA you attend daily lectures and you are not provided any special treatment, unlike EMBA students. We can enlist some of the specialties of the Executive MBA (EMBA):-

  • The EMBA is meant for working professional and not for regular academic/university students.
  • The essential eligibility criterion for getting admission for EMBA is the candidates need to have a quality experience at managerial level.
  • You no more need to appear for any entrance test but the other things matter, like your spoken and written English, interpersonal skills, maturity level, type of experience, etc.
  • The fee for the EMBA course is slightly higher than the traditional MBA.
  • The duration of the course may run from 1 year to 2 years with a flexible schedule.

Dear aspirant, Executive MBA is some sort of a practical course where students of the course learn to widen their knowledge base and brush up their old theoretical knowledge and experience on the whetstone of modern and new techniques. It helps them a lot and they implement whatever they learn in this period to widen their horizons of possibilities. As everyone, attending the EMBA has been in the profession; here they develop a great network of friends in the business world which helps them to grow to a new level. Students for Executive MBA have been referred to as the Cohorts for the aforesaid reason. Joining EMBA will really help you and the CareerGuide is here to show you the right way.
