Hi,

Its generally a very common issues which a students faces in his career since deciding on the subject would have a drastic impact on your life ahead.
In the current level of study for you the decision should be based on following points

1) Interest : If you are a person who love Maths and would need a logic to understand any thing then it would be better for you to get into Non Medical/ Engineering field, but if you love numbers and want to pursue courses like CA then you have to decide for commerce

2) Opportunities : In Engineering you would get opportunities where you have to develop or deal with technical aspects, the course from any college in India would need 4 years for Engineering, Now for Commerce the Scope can be diverse from accounting to finance to banking etc, the time line for CA depends on your results in various levels of CPT, IPCC and Final

3) Understanding : Its advisable to meet some CA and see his/ her life style and nature of work, Also to understand meet and engineer and discuss what does he/ she do and whatever the opportunities an engineer can explore.

The decision should always be based on Logical thinking and not on suggestion from family, friends, peers, it should be your interest where you can contribute some thing and would enjoy there for your life time.

You should also take test provided by www.careerguide.com to aid/assist you in finalizing one of the option.

All the best
