Hi Adil,
Please note one is a Analyst and the other is a planner.
Now being a masters in Accountancy, I a sure you are well versed with basic accountancy which is a general requirement for a Financial planner.
And if you have few years of experience, I would suggest, pursue CFA, only.
Since it is one level higher in the industry, whereby you are an investment personnel for corporate and also it is a tough course for even experienced people to clear in 5 years time.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
By PG in Accountancy do you mean MCom in Accountancy? If yes, then I would recommend you to do CPA. Ofcourse this will depend on your real interest in Accountancy and Audit. If the answer is yes, then definitely CPA would add value.
With CPA you have less scope for direct employment in India. Only CPA qualified professionals get jobs abroad. Ideally a Chartered Accountancy doing CPA course is seen and is beneficial.
CFA is a different course altogether. This is not related to Accounting. CFA is about Financial Analysis, where your Accounting knowledge will be required but it is not the end result of CFA. CFA are financial professionals involved in high level of financial analysis, data analysis. CFA has tremendous scope in India as well as abroad.
Best wishes
