Dear ......

I appreciate your aspirations!! Thanks for approaching us at CareerGuide.com!!!

You need to understand the difference between Reality and Possibilities. The reality is the communication Skills and Talent that you have and you develop through your life experiences. Becoming MD in the career journey is a possibility !!!

Google about the MD's job role and you would find that primarily : MD's role is a Visionary one. He is a specialist who can 'see the future' and manage the present accordingly (ie giving directions). By adding Degree's and Diplomas, one can become qualified or highly qualified, but that's not a prerequisite to become an MD. Read business magazines to understand the style and attitude of MD's across industry. This will help you nuture your aspirations well. When you read about them and realise as how they slog- out just to keep the enterprises up and running ( by attaining sustainable profits), will enlighten you with the reality.

I suggest that you go ahead by creating your own enterprise, which will give you opportunity to fulfil the desire to start as MD. Alternatively, join a corporate ASAP. Start gathering experience and look for opportunities to excel and move ahead. Focus on the journey and appreciate and value each experience along the way. These days, Intrapreneurshipwithin the organisation is highly encouraged. With your abilities and education, you might as well become one of the Director there.

Best Wishes,
Sumit Basu

Hi,

Thanks for choosing CareerGuide.com!!!

ambitions in a way are real motivators as they keep on pushing us towards excellence so one should be ambitious but the key is hard work and dedication. Becoming MD in a company is your long term goal before that you need to define and achieve your short term goals. It is good that you are pursuing CA- IPCC and CS- executive but right now the very first goal of yours should be qualifying any one successfully . People do quailfy both CS/CA but would suggest you to opt for one at this time. You can opt for either CA or CS depending upon your interest .

Law is a wonderful option if accompanied with CS. So you can definitly pursue regular law program with it . If you do your law program from the top colleges like NALSAR ( www.nalsar.ac.in/), NLSUI ( https://www.nls.ac.in/), ILS ( www.ilslaw.edu/) and also clear your CS then there is no doubt that you will be welcomed in the corporate sector at a decent position. Similarily if you qualify CA you can start your professional journey at decent package as a Analyst.

After a good job experience of 4-5 years definilty you can try for the desired designation.

Hi!

Thanks for visiting at CareerGuide.com!!!

After reading the replies from the counselor, I am sure you must have got clarity about how to achieve your dream of becoming a MD in a company.

Since I'm also a CA, I would like to share something important with you.

1) To get MD's Job in a company:

If you will search a job as MD on job portals, you will find that they will be asking for an experience of 15 years or more with some qualifications such as CA, CS, MBA etc. At this point of time you are not having that.

2) Are you ready to become MD of a company:

MD of a company is just like a father who has the entire responsibility to take care & fulfill all the needs of his family. A father is a decision maker, if everything goes wrong, the entire responsibility comes on him and vice-versa.

3) What should I do to become MD:

a) Firstly you have to complete your professional studies with full dedication. That means whatever you are learning during your students life, study wholeheartedly as you will be applying those learnings when you will enter corporate world.

b) After clearing your professional studies, Join a company or any person who you look up to as a mentor so as to learn practicly all the aspects of the business world. Stay there, give your all, win there trust and the everything will come to you smoothly. I have scene people growing like this, who after 4-5 years are leading the comapnies as MD etc.

c) If you have a plan do start your business, start making its blueprint from now own. After completing your sudies, start a company & become director in it. If you business sense is good & it grows, then sky is the limit to your earnings.

d) Laslty, join any big company. Stay there for 5-10 years, obviously perform well & give ur best services, you will see that they will give you a post which you are aspiring for right now.

So be optimistic & keep moving forward.

Stay HAppy & Bright
