Environmental science is the study of human interaction with environment to solve complex problems. It is a broad field that studies natural environment, built environment and set of relationship between them.

Environmental science graduate and post graduates have a lot of career options. They can work in different govt departments and agencies like forest department, pollution control , urban planning , industries , water resourses and agriculture.

NGO's working for enviromental protection are hiring enviromental science students and scholars in enviromental science. There are a lot of option available in private sector too. Water treatment industries, refinenires, mines, fertilizers plant , food processing industries, textile mills hire enviromental scientist.

Teaching and research is another employement options for enviromental scientist. Both private and govt institution hire.

Courses available are Bsc or BE , Msc or ME/Mtech , Mphil and Phd in enviromental science. There are various diploma and certificate courses in enviromental management and enviromental science.

Environmental Economics is a branch of Economics that deals with economics related to issues with environment. It a study to understand how evolution of factories and people's behaviour affects the environment like polluting water, air or land. They have a dedicated research centre for environmental economics and the faculty is well established too. They also have a Masters program in Environmental Economics running on and you may have to consider applying for it. I personally recommend you this school as their faculty and resources reputation are excellent. For your reference, their website is www.mse.ac.in

You can apply to colleges that run MA Environmental Economics specialisations under the University of Delhi. They have a well reputed centre 'Indian society for ecological economics- INSEE' and the research publication is also been highly rewarded.

If you consider choosing studying abroad you can apply to universities in the list below. They are top ten under each country for this subject. If you want to study in USA, you need to have a good score in GRE general test and an IELTS/ TOEFL score. If you want to study in the UK, IELTS score will alone be sufficient.

Also be ready with the test score like GRE and TOEFL for the USA and IELTS for the UK as they are required while you send in the application.
