Hello Bhawna,
I am sure you have pursued chemistry with some goal in mind. I would say follow that.
Where did serving the nation come in the middle. Not that I am discouraging you to join army. But every act must follow or have a reason. Self introspect and then only make a choice.
As said masters degree is essential but what matters is where your interest lies. Please note SSC is a service to the nation for a minimum 5years and then you would have to decide the further course of action. Either you continue in army or get into corporates would be your choice. If army then fine but if you decide corporates then a backup or a masters degree would be essential.
Will you be interested to study again after 5 years. Point here is self introsect as to where your ultimate goal is. Only then make a choice.
For information on SSC check joinindianarmy.com

Wish you good luck
Dear Aspirant,
I would like to understand on what basis have you chosen Chemistry Honors? Was it your interest or a random choice or may be because you dont like Biology or Physics, etc? Yes, higher studies are important in todays world where there are advancements going on and the businesses becoming dynamic.
SSC is a different field where your graduation is not relevant. I would still ask you to review your decision to join SSC. How come suddenly you have developed passion and interest in Defence career?
To remove the confusion for once, please take the Ideal Career Test from CareerGuide.com. This is a psychometric test which is uniquely designed to judge your aptitude, interests, innate abilities, skills, etc. which are important factors to decide your career. The report gets generated instantly and you can then speak to me as well over phone to discuss.
Best wishes
