Hello

Unorganised Sector
I think I already gave you an in-depth response to this query. However as there are some extra questions that you have posted, I am happy to offer you advice on these. As said being a Delhi University topper is highly advantageous for getting an offer for admission and as well as getting selected for scholarships. Your history of scores since schooling is highly excellent for considering an admission at highly reputed universities. The top ones in UK both overall and for Computer science are Cambridge, Oxford, Bristol, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Warwick, Southampton and Imperial college London will comfortably admit you for a place on the MSc Computer science degree program with them.

There are two main reasons why I advise you to apply for these set of universities.
1. Studying at a very top university will develop you both professionally and personally, it also gives more weight on to your resume.
2. Only top universities will provide you with plenty of scholarships compared to the medium and low ranked universities. As you are highly dependent on scholarships to study in the UK, it is therefore advisable to consider applying to these ten universities.

When to apply? You should apply online on the individual universities website.

What to submit along application?
  • Scanned copies of your 10th, 12th certificates and mark sheets.
  • Scanned copies of each semester mark sheet and overall degree certificate. I understand you would not have obtained last sem mark sheet and degree certificate by Nov 2014, so only submit the ones you have in hand. Also please mention to the university that you will submit the pending mark sheets as soon you get them.
  • A personal statement with a minimum of two pages typed on Microsoft word, explaining why you want to study this MSc, how you gained interest in this subject and what are your future career aims related to this MSc degree.
  • Two recommendation letters given by your professors from Delhi University, printed on official headed paper and stamped.
  • IELTS mark sheet scanned.
  • A passport number.
  • A valid passport (this passport should be valid - that means it should be open to travel until Jan 2017). Your study visa for MSc will be from Sept 2015 to Jan 30, 2017.
  • A passport size photo (some universities may ask you to upload one although not all will demand). So be ready with a photo however.
You should upload all these above said documents in scanned and pdf version.

Scholarships:
You need to first submit a study application and once you submit you will be provided with an application number. Only after this you can submit a scholarship application. Scholarship deadlines close at various times between Dec to May. For example, Cambridge and Oxford closes scholarship deadlines by December itself and other universities will close accordingly until the month of May. This is why I said it is a wide decision to send in the applications by November 2014 itself to be eligible to apply for sending scholarship applications between Dec to May, university by university.

IELTS:
While it is okay to get a minimum 6.0 overall in IELTS, all these top universities demand a minimum of 7.0 overall. And some may demand even a 7.5 overall. You can enrol for an IELTS coaching class where ever you like, though British council IELTS class is mostly preferred. You should make sure you appear for IELTS exam in September. Therefore you can prepare for it from May to September. This preparation is long enough and will definitely give you a very good score like 7.0 overall. If you appear for exam by first week of September, you will have results in 15 days and by end September/ beginning November you can start sending your application forms.

Resit IELTS: You can resit IELTS after 21 days of each attempt. Resitting is not advisable as each resit will cost you full payment of exam fee. So prepare well and do well at the first attempt.

Education loan: Almost all banks in India offer an educational loan to a maximum of 20 lakh per student for studying abroad. But they will need a property on your parents name, that has to be pledged in place of this educational loan. Try aiming for scholarships as this will long way reduce your burden.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
