As a sociologists, your main role is working towards the society. Now from the areas like poverty, health, education, environment, etc you choose which area you wish to focus on and start working in that area.
Eg. A sociologists working in the area of poverty, goes ahead to many corporates or local organizations. Makes a tie up with them and provides employment to the people he works for.
Please note, after a graduation in sociology you can join an NGO and start work at the junior level. But a MSW degree will help you land a job at the corporates in their CSR ( corporate social responsibility) department. After an MSW you can work with NGO too.
