Hello Vivek,
Good that you chose Mechanical engineering, as it is said that mechanical encompasses the entire industry. As a mechanical engineer you could work in any industry as per your choice.
Coming back to your question. What exactly you mean by saying something with computers?. Do you like the hardware and systems and operations or the software and network related matters. Computers consists of both these segments.
Anyways once you start working, you could make a choice. At the moment, you have 2 options. Either opt for a ME/ M.TECH in computer engineering which will enhance your knowledge related to development of hardwares or softwares. Or you could opt for a 3 years MCA course, which would enhance your application knowledge in both the hardware and software industry. Eligibility for MCA apart from merit is an entrance exam.
But please note, computers is a volatile field. Every time something new is developed. You need to keep yourself updated.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
Unfortunately, there are many Mechanical Engineers who took Mechanical stream in engineering thinking that they would like it and would get jobs based on that. Now taking mechanical engineering and getting a job are not related.
You being a BE Mechanical, you seem not like it and would not like to continue in that field. This is your personal choice. You can now definitely apply for IT/Computer jobs since many MNCs hire mechanical engineers for coding, programming, systems, software testing jobs. There are plenty of jobs available in the IT sector.
For this, I would recommend that you should get some meaningful certifications related to IT/Computers like Programming, CCNA, MCSE, etc. Learning the IT and computer technologies will make you eligible for good jobs in IT/Computers.
Best wishes
Completed it in 2014 and haven't done any job yet, how can I find a job in software field.
In order to post replies to the question: "I did B.E. from Mechanical, but I don't like it Im more into computer related things, what to do?"
