For a number of PCB/ PCM students or even the commerce or arts students who are looking for a career in the computer applications or the software industry. This is possible by pursuing the graduation degree in the Bachelors of Computer Application degree.

BCA program is designed to prepare experts in the field ofsoftware development and information technology services so that they can work in the industry oriented products and fills the most of the available jobs in the respective industry. This made the entire system been able to use a larger manpower and more software oriented experts as in comparison with the engineering fields.

BCA and approach of Computer Science

BCA field is very much different from the engineering. It is so because, the BCA program is designed in such a way that, it provides all the basic and important knowledge regarding the commerce operations that are going on in the industry as well as providing all the necessary information and details about the development operations in order to make professionals who can work and fit in any of the organization that they want to work for.

This is only possible because of the diversity in students in context of their education background and thus making it possible to design a flexible course in such a way that anyone from any of the educational background, let it be science, commerce or arts can pursue this course. Irrespective of other engineering courses which are only available for the students with science background.

Another difference between engineering and BCA is that engineering are technical specific courses and only limited to development and research only thus making the engineering field as one of the fields which only deals with the design, develop and maintain properties for the production unit and not work on the commerce and economic aspects of the approach. It only works in making the efficient system and not on the organization of the resources for that system and this is what makes the biggest system in the industry and can be pointed as the major difference between both the fields.

These all properties make the BCA as one of the major fields that can be pursued after the senior secondary education in order to pursue a specialization courseif you are looking forward to a greater career in the software industry or wanted to learn the computer technologies for any of your personal agendas.

BCA as a education option

One of the major facts that made any of the students from different backgrounds with computer science as one of the subjects or not can pursue BCA is that most of the admission for the BCA is done on the basis of the entrance exam.

The examchecks the basic aptitude and the logical ability of candidates and gives admission on the basis of that. And in order to become eligible for that entrance a standard percentage criteria is followed, where more than a specific amount of percentage will make the student eligible for taking the entrance exam. This is why BCA is very much flexible in terms of the eligibility criteria.

Open for everyone

Apart from that, there is one small problem while preparing for the BCA entrance exam, and that is one of the sections that is present in the BCA entrance exam is dedicated to computer aptitude. Basic questions in terms of computation are asked in order to check the interest of the student in the specific field or even to check whether the student will adapt the course or not and hence making the it as important parameter.

This section is pretty tough for the students who have no idea about the computers and yet they are interested in pursuing the BCA. This is the only possible situation that makes a difficulty for the non-Computer Science students and stops them to pursue the BCA. Except for this, there are no any other problems for the students and they are eligible for the BCA.

Apart from theseproblems there is also a possible solution to this problem also, in which students can also prepare computer aptitude and basics of computer science and fundamentals of the computer system from any possible available resource present and can increase their knowledge and hence can prepare themselves for BCA courses.
