Hello

Marketing Manager

Aspiring to do an MBA is an excellent decision for your future career. You haven't mentioned on any about your educational background. To study an MBA, students need to have ideally taken up the 10+2+3 route or the 10+2+4 route. This means, after tenth and twelfth you should have either completed a three year bachelors degree or a four year bachelors degree. If you have followed either of these routes, then you are absolutely eligible to study an MBA.

Next, having some work experience: An MBA with some prior work experience is definitely essential for a person to survive on the MBA course and as well post completion of the degree. In your case, two years of work experience as an Air hostess is definitely countable, so please feel glad about it and stay relaxed too. Colleges often prefer for admitting students with prior work experience and very few students who are freshers are given an admission. This is because colleges would filter the best candidates and will know who will be successful in campus placements and who will be not. Showing placement records of their graduates is very important for colleges and this way they will be definitely convinced to see your two year work experience as an air hostess. As working as an air hostess, you would have developed and demonstrated people skills, communication skills, team working skills, organising skills and all these skills are highly required to be successful in a HR profession as well.

Therefore you can very well choose to study an MBA with Human resource management. Post completion you can either return to your airline for ground staffing jobs in HR department or work for other corporate sectors in HR departments. As you have gathered people skills in these two working years, you will be obviously weighed better compared to other MBA graduates.

Some of the top MBA institutes in India are
IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, ISB Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, IIM Khozhikode, IIM Indore, FMS Delhi, XLRI, Bharathidasan institute of management Trichy, Loyola institute of business administration LIBA Chennai, Great lakes institute of management Chennai, Symbiosis Pune, IMD Ghaziabad and SP Jain institute of management.

Exams: Most of the colleges require CAT score and few require MAT/ GMAT score. The only b-school that demands a GMAT is ISB Hyderabad from the above list.

You can spend a few months on CAT coaching and with that you can absolutely crack your CAT/MAT exam. Hope this helps. My best wishes for your MBA and graduation. Good luck.
