hi

Anirban Roy

I have completed Btech in Electrical Engineering. I am interested in improving my technical skills and try to get a job. I am not interested in doing either business studies or MBA right now. Will it be better to do MBA after work experience?

Dear Aspirant,

Electrical Engineering offers good scope and job opportunities. I am very happy to know that you are keenly interested in improving your skills and that indicates that you have realised the importance of skill and know the difference between education (degree paper qualification) and real employable skill.

YES, doing MBA later after at least five years of experience would be ideal for an engineer like you. First hunting for a job should be the priority on the basis of your domain knowledge and topping up with good communication skills, proficient the English language and employable attitudes like flexibility, team spirit, learning attitude, etc.

If you do MBA right now, you will get MBA related jobs which will not be into engineering necessarily. So be cautious.

Doing some MOOCs through www.EDX.org will be of help and some certifications in your domain will be good.

Best wishes

If I do job right now and leave job after 2-3 years, and do full time MBA, how much this is tough? I know that distance MBA has no value, then what are the alternative options of doing MBA after 2-3 years of experience?
