What do you wish to do with your MSc Microbiology? You can go for Teaching by appearing for NET/SET exam or going for a B.Ed course if you are interested in teaching.
MSc Microbiology candidates are definitely required in companies like pharma, biological research, wineries, etc. Therefore you can apply for jobs. But when you apply for jobs, you will have to explain what did you do between 2012 and 2016 and that should be justifiable to the company. If the reason is genuine and convincing, then you need not worry, but an explanation is a must.
