Well thats really a wise decision you have taken of making a career in Banking Sector. Banking Sector has a tremendous requirement of Human Resource due to the revision in the Banking System.Nowadays there has been an requirements of various officers viz.IT Officer,law Officer,HR/Personnel Officer etc.
You can definetely become an IT Officer in Bank. You need to apply for IBPS Specialist Officer-IT Officer.Once you clear this exam you will become an IT Officer in a Bank.Lets have an introspection to it how you can become an IT Officer of Bank in detail.
IBPS means Institute for Banking Personnel Selection. It recruits specialists officer for certain cadre posts in Public Sector Banks.There are around 10 Specialist Officer Posts and IT is one of them. There are two specialist IT Officer cadre posts :-
1.Specialist IT Officer- scale I 2. Specialist IT Officer -Scale II
One has to apply online for this examination.
Availability of online forms- Usually in the month of November.Exam held in the month of- In the month of Februaru.Mode of Exam- Common Written Test followed by an Interview.Total marks for common Test- 200Duration of Written Test- 2 hours.Negativer marking- yes, .25marks for a wrong answer.

---------Specialist Officer- IT (Scale I)Age- The minimum age requirement is 20 and maximum is 30 years.
Educational Qualification-The candidate should have any one of the three educational qualifications below:
1.Should have an engineering degree of 4 years in IT/Computer applications/computer science/Electronics/Electronics and telecommunications/Electronics and Communication/electronics and Instrumentation.2.a Post Graduate Degree in Electronics & Instrumentation/Computer Science/IT/Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunication/electronics & Communication/computer Applications3.A simple graduate having cleared DOEACC 'B'Level.
Work Experince is not needed.
----------Specialist officer (scale II)Age- The minimum age requirement is 20 and the maximum is 35 years.
Educational Qualification- Its same as above mentioned in Scale I.
While one must have an work experience of minimum of 2 years in IT.
One have to clear the written test conducted by IBPS and on clearing the exam one has to give an interview.

Medium of Answer-Except the English test,all the other tests will be available in English and Hindi.
Interview-The total marks for the interview is 100.the minimum score has to be 40 percent.The weightage ratio between common Written test and Interview is usually 80:20.The final score is arrived by combining both the marks that candidate have scored. Both the tests stands to qualify for the alotment of posts.

You can definitely enter the banking sector as IT officer through the IBPS route as already nicely explained by by colleague Prathamesh here. You are eligible for the post. However I would suggest you to complete a post graduation through taking up MCA before joining the industry. MCA will help you a lot in terms of deeper understanding, increased salary pay and confidence.
Along side you can start preparing for IBPS exam.
