Well you hold a very strong qualification and thats really good. I am glad that you have been thinking to make your career in the Banking sector. Banking sector in India is one of the booming career field currently due to the several changes that has been done in the Indian Banking System.Its expected that their would be an employment generation of around 7 lakh in next 5 years. So Banking sector needs a skilled and technological skills learned candidates.

As you have been thinking to make a career in Banking Sector in order to go for the PG Diploma in Banking you need to have completed your degree and as you hold an M.Sc you definitely get eligible to get an admission for PG Diploma Course. Talking about the technical skills you are being taught the same in your course while talking about accounts you need to at least have a basic knowledge of the accounts. You can go through with the books of accounts of std.11th and 12th this will help you to gain the basic knowledge.

You can pursue the course from ICFAI or NIIT and the fees varies from course to course which on an average may range between 50,000 to 1 lakh. Whereas you can choose any diploma in Banking as per your choice like Banking and Finance,Banking and Insurance, Banking and Risk Management etc.

See where your interest lies and according to your interest you can take an admission for the course.

Dear Aspirant,

It seems a little late in deciding your career path. However its better late than never.

On the basis of MSc Maths you cannot get entry directly into the banking sector or accounts, etc. You will have to compulsorily do an MBA or a PG Diploma in Banking / Finance / Management etc for getting an entry into the industry.

Banking sector is vast and dynamic and definitely there is a need for talented people.

You can also think for appearing for SBI PO or other Bank PO Exams and join Banking industry as Probationary Officers. You can join coaching classes for banking exam preparation training and I think you will clear it easily.
