Hello My Dear...

This is a very common query and also a right one considering the dynamics of the industry and both courses being very strong. I am glad that you approached CareerGuide.com for seeking clarification and guidance for this career query.

My Dear.. Choosing between MBA and MCA taking into consideration that you re graduate in BCA is actually simple. I will tell you how...

What you need to do is, sit in a calm place in your home undisturbed and list out all your strengths, weaknesses, passion, interests, likings, competencies, ability, skills, etc. The strengths and weaknesses should also include the names of the subjects you like or hate the most in your graduation.

If you feel, that you would enjoy being into technical field like programming, testing, coding, etc. then you should definitely choose MCA course. MCA course needs to be done full time and not through distance or part time basis. If you are passionate about Information Technology industry, then MCA is the best course for you.

If you feel that you like theoritical subjects and would like to shift your career towards finance, hr, marketing or international business, then you should do MBA with respective specialisations. Please remeber that once an MBA it is not necessary that you will get job in the Information Technology sector only just because you are a BCA as a under graduate degree. IT companies also require MBAs with technical skills like BCA but the positions should be coupled with some work experience.

My Dear.. you have to decide the option based on the aspects which you have listed down. If you are not able to do that CareerGuide.com has excellent tools for psychometric assessement which will give you a clear idea of your interests and likings and passion and strengths, etc.

Best Luck
