I have heard that the concept of reservation does not work for post graduate admissions.

I am seeking admission in M.A clinical psychology from pune university. I will apply under defence quota but recently someone told me that reservations are not there PG admissions i.e; all admission are considered under open category and selection is on the basis of merit list. The official says that a state government regulation has put such a thing into effect. Is this true ? is it true for pune university also ?

If you wish to apply under the defense quota, this means that you might have searched the University website and they have provided you the option, butt your question suggests to me that you seem to be confused.

Before you apply please check the university website, or meet the staffs and get it clarified whether they are having the quota system.

The answer to your question is that reservations and quota were introduced, as a matter of help to students to help them achieve their basic qualification which would help them sustain their life.

When we mean basic education it cover 10th, 12th and graduation. As you might be aware that being a Graduate helps you getting a job,so people are able to sustain on their own.

For specializing in a course, means that you would like to get a detailed study for the subject. This means that you are capable and you do possess the reasoning capacity to see details which helps you in further studies.
So i leave this question to you, if you have the capability to think and reason, why do you need a support then in that case???
Dont you think further studies should be on merit???
